How Pathetic Am I?

After finally putting the yard to bed for the winter, sewing, shopping, and painting for clients, creating my new line of one-of-a-kind designer sofa throws(pictures of some of them will be on my next post), catching up on my own projects( pant! pant!), putting up my Christmas decorations(this year it only took me 4 ten hour days instead of 6...I'm downsizing!), having parties, going to parties, shopping for Christmas, having my wonderful daughter and her 3 perfect children(Ssnta was watching...of course!)visit us for a week, taking down Christmas, etc., etc.,etc., I am finally posting my Chritmas pics!!! A few years ago, Scott Zimmerman, a local photographer for many well known magazines, sold an article and pictures of my Christmas House to Paula Dean's special edition of her Christmas magazine. For some very stange reason that NO one ever discovered, it never got published. Oh! Well! At least I can share some of the pics I took this year with you all! I am a Santa freak, as you will see, even though they were some of the things I downsized this year. I've been collecting for 23 years and am now only buying one a year and IT has to make me cry(my standard for shopping purchases). Please note I promise I will be VERY faithful in keeping my blog current with new "stuff". Please share it with your friends and family and let me know your thoughts and comments. I know this is a really long blog, but we HAVE to get Christmas behind us!!! Happy New Year... until we meet again! Love, Allison

And I Will Live "Hoppily" Ever After...

As you may have already guessed, I'm a little obsessed with rabbits!!!!!!!! I have previously surmised that it's probably from a childhood "something to do with Alice in Wonderland". I'll probably never understand, but does that really make any difference? When I start with my Portfolio, inside my house pictures, in the next few weeks, you'll see I'm REALLY obsessed and you may not want to be my "friend" anymore, but that's just a chance I'll have to take. I'm actually excited to start sharing my "inside" home with you soon, so that you can see examples of my sewing projects which is one of the reasons I really started this Blog. Then I know you will have a clearer picture of what I can do for you, if that is why you are reading this blog today. If not, and you just love seeing new ideas and catching up on the latest and greatest, that makes me very, very hoppy, I mean happy!!!See you soon! Love, Allison

MY LION WAS FEELING REALLY, REALLY LEFT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One Woman's Junk is Another One's...

Years of garage sales, first-in-line thrift store mornings, antique stores, boutiques, etc., etc., etc., has paid off big dividends in my yard art. I probably screw myself over and over, by sharing my finds and experience with all who venture in, but what can I say... That's just the kind of hairpin I am! (Ask your grandma for an interpretation) So hope you get some more ideas in how to incorporate what YOU love into YOUR yard. My theory... if you love something, you WILL find a place for it!!! Happy
Hunting! See you soon! Love, Allison

Birds of a Feather

Birds of a feather don't really flock together...to MY garden at least. They just come to visit with all of my other friends to see where I've put my latest garage sale, thrift store, and boutique finds, in my yard. With the price of flowers going "to the birds" I've tried to find new ways to fill pots, nooks and otherwise empty spots with a bit of humor and whimsy. Originally I had over 50 pots. The expense was staggering and watering them took 100's of hours a week!!! (Well it felt like that) And did I mention the deadheading??? Plus BIG BONUS...I can use the birdhouses over and over again every year. So, like I love to say, start looking now for fun, new ways to use something ordinary in creative ways to share with your best friends, be they fowl or human. 'Til we meet again! Love, Allison
